Hey guys, I've noticed recently that my Avatar Vintage 2x12 really vibrates the back panel (closed back) when low notes are played and rung out. Could this be an issue of the speaker screws on the front baffle being too loose or tight? Is it a normal thing and I'm just fretting over nothing? Any help would be great here. Thanks.

Re: Cab Vibration Help!

Vibrating is fine and perfectly normal.
You don't want to physically hear any buzz or rattling though.

Re: Cab Vibration Help!

No buzz or rattle per se, but the pack panel really moves and I can hear it over the clean channel being played.

Re: Cab Vibration Help!

tighten the screws. all cabs are supposed to resonate...that's part of what makes different cab designs sound different

Re: Cab Vibration Help!

Your cab may be vibrating more than usual if you play bass heavy metal type music. Those Avatar Vintage cabs look really cool, but I personally don't like how shallow their deph is. Only 12 inches deep I believe.
My OverSized Randall 2x12 is as deep as a regular 4x12 at 14 inches.
It might not seem like much, but an inch may as well be a foot when talking about cabinet dimensions and the resulting sound/performance.
