CAD U37 USB mic too loud

i got one of these mics and positioned it like any other mic, and i can't turn it down enough not to be disgustingly overpowering.... even at a normal quiet jam volume it's too loud.

i'm using audacity on windows 7.

the problem still exists outside of audacity.

Your DAW doesn't have a trim or input level control?

I turned off the ACG, and its managable now.
