Just looked up that Akira's. Red star. Very interesting. Coke Bottle head stock like the Danelectro. I think you're totally right about "collectors". Some would want to restore it to the original factory blah blah blah and many have said I should take it in and have it painted. I really think a dark burl veneer combined with light veneer would look great. I'm even considering a checkered veneer pattern to match the headstock. When I gather my supplies and ready to for the rebuild I will make sure to take some pictures of the neck. Floyd rose bridges can be a pain so no reason to waste a good set of d'addario nyxl.

Had a chance to check out the Perpetual Burn. It keeps me up at night. I think that's the feeling I've looking for...

Refinish on this is a given - that deserves it's own thread.

As for the pup? Bah - that's easy!

That's the beauty of this...it wasn't a production (i.e. factory) guitar, not to mention its by a company known to hack up guitars to suit the player! Do whatever the F you wanna do with it.

Akira's red star is pretty dope for sure. But wasn't his original an ESP?
