Has anyone ever tried any of these?

I am curious to see if they do make a huge difference as claimed....

I must say after I have joined the SD forums I have become way more a parts junkie...damn you guys (yes my new pickups are in the mail along with my push/pull pots) :0)

Re: Callaham Tele Bridges

I use the vintage bridge on a tele, and it works very well.

since then, he's come out with the "straight pull" version, as well as one that fits an American Standard. However, all of his stuff has a great reputation.

Re: Callaham Tele Bridges

Thanks - I was looking at the straight pull one as I have an American Standard. I was just curious as to whether they live up to the "hype"....when I was reading the webpage he seemed very knowledgeable about the differences between the standard Fender types and the Callahams.

Re: Callaham Tele Bridges

Yes, they are awesome. I have a vintage style on with the compensated saddles, and it made my vintage modified Squier my no. 1 guitars.

Re: Callaham Tele Bridges

i love mine and think they are great. they are not cheap however

Re: Callaham Tele Bridges

I love the Callaham Strat bridge, the Tele...not so much.

what dont you like about the bridge?

i have a lefty bridge with righty saddles that i really like. i have the older style compensated saddles which i dont 100% love but i havent changed em either. the bridge itself is solid as hell

Re: Callaham Tele Bridges

I have This Callaham bridge on my Tele ;

. Its a big thick bridge with the brass saddles & along with my bridge Jerry Donahue Duncan pickup , it really takes the edge off that Telcaster treble spike, but retains alot of the twang. For awhile I was considering the Twang-King, but Ive really love the Jerry Donahue Pickup now and won't ever change it out.
Very pricey, the Callaham bridge set me back close to 175 bones in the polished chrome, and that was tough to take.
I've heard that people have problems with this particular Callaham Tele bridge cause its so thick they can't get the proper break angle off the saddles for their Teles- even shimmed, but a moderate shim took care of everything for me and I didn't have to raise the saddles very high or anything.
Lots of great increased sustain and harmonics I noticed after installing it.
I'd seriously consider the other company ( I forgot, not Barden) that alot of guys on the Tele forums like for the bridge on my other Tele though, which now has the cheap Wilkinson ,which is a pretty good bridge.

Man..you arent serious? Comon now, really! I *have heard complaints about pinging before on the Callahams ( not the one I have, which is thicker). A lot of players prefer the other aftermarket bridge, and I'll be damned if I remember the name, not Barden; Its about as expensive as the Callaham. ( EDIT_ , the bridge I was thinking of is "Glendale")

Hi
Thanks for sharing this nice link. I had checked your link. This is very interesting.
Please keep sharing more and more information....

Re: Callaham Tele Bridges

What effect does changing an "American" (i.e., 6 piece saddles) to the "vintage" (3 piece saddle) bridge? I seem to recall in an older thread that this would add a bit of twang to the sound?

No I'm nor serious I'm just making it up as I go, hell what's a telecaster anyhow.

The Glendale is a great bridge, I don't know if they make an American Series replacement but if they do it's great I'm sure. They're billed from a solid piece of metal so they are substantially more expensive. That said I love my Callaham. Much more "Tele sounding" than the steel 6 saddle pot metal bridge I had before.

It's too thick for me...I actually like that a thin cheepo Tele bridge will catch feedback at times and at high volumes...if you spenmd the time you can actually use that. If you want a more heavy duty bridge than a stock Tele bridge the Barden is cool and the Glendale is cool but I just wasn't blown away by the Callaham...now the Callaham bridge to convert an American Standard tele bridge to a 3 saddle bridge is killer...I'm just talking about their box bridge...
