Calling all Alice In Chains fans

Ok so I'm currently doing a cover of "Rooster" for YouTube and I need some input on my tone for the intro. Im using my Pod HD500x into Reaper for mixing/post and I'd like to know what you guys think, and if I should make any changes or better ways to shape the tone. I'm not familiar with mixing or audio whatsoever (besides what I taught myself and read on this forum, mainly) so I understand if it really is complete garbage, and won't be offended!!

Also if anyone is curious on the tone I found a clean patch in the 500x, added an analog flanger, chorus, and phaser. In Reaper I did multiple overdubs with reverb, compression, EQ, and this nifty envelope filter VST I found. Not quite sure how to use it but I tweaked some stuff and thought it sounded ok.

That's really close! Well done. It's passable. If you want it even closer I would make it a bit thinner. Are you using a single coil neck pickup.

Re: Calling all Alice In Chains fans

Thank you!! I actually used an Epiphone Les Paul with the rhythm switch on most of the parts but I have a Rampage as well so I could definitely make it thinner

Re: Calling all Alice In Chains fans

Thanks man!! It's really tough since there isn't much to go off of but I'm glad you like it!!

This new link will work but i think you might have to download it to play it. It works in iTunes just fine though. If for some reason it still doesn't work I'll just put it on YouTube and share the link

Close; ditto on making it thinner. Did you use this as a reference?
