Calling all single coil geeks!

So I spent the last 2 days combing for info on the phat cat and other humbucking sized p90/sc pups and I have a question or two.

I play bright sounding carvin bolt-kit strat with HSS config through a series one Mesa rectoverb 50. awesome rock amp.

I'm going to put a phat cat or gfs mean 90 in the bridge. (anyone selling? pm me please!)

I need everyone's opinion on a great pair of neck and mid position single coils to compliment whichever bridge pup i get. What should I consider if i'm looking for Joe walsh/SRV/john mayerish tones?

I don't mind 60hz hum but I welcome any suggestions on a good set of noiseless sc's if they still sound like actual single coils. (Fender SCNs maybe?)

Thanks everyone!

Re: Calling all single coil geeks!

I am going to be getting a pair of the new classic stack plus pickups for the neck and mid positions down the road a bit. They are supposed to do true single coil tones very well.

SCN's seem to have a rather mixed to negative response that I have gathered. I guess the biggest thing is how far your willing to deviate from the traditional voicings.
