Calling DL-4 Users/Lew!

I just picked up a used Line 6 DL4 for 160, and haven't plugged in yet. What delay presets do you guys favor? Any tips for easy set-up??

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Calling DL-4 Users/Lew!

I like to use the digital delay for slapback, and the analog delay w/ mod for longer, Floyd-esque echo. I also like to set the mix to 100%, delay time to min, repeats to min, and use the Tweak/Tweez knobs for cool filtering and modulation sounds. Check it out!

I just got my second DL4, so I'm running two in series now. I can loop a loop -- very cool effects.

That sounds pretty cool, Keith. It seems like I'd want the mix to almost always be at 80-100%. I'll have to get some practice on the looper, but it's the one feature I'd like to master so I can set a rhythm track and hopefully give my drummer some consistency to follow-yeah right:banghead:

For your longer delays/Floyd stuff, where do you set the repeats? I almost always have that pretty low too.

Re: Calling DL-4 Users/Lew!

i use the looper, a lot...with a band, i do non-rhythmic looping...with acoustic, it is more layering of single notes to make chords.

currently, in delay mode, my 3 presets are: 1. Long mod delay, small bit of mod, exp pedal controls volume of echos 2. Slapback, with exp pedal controlling number of repeats, and 3. auto-wah, using the sweep echo with no direct signal, no repeats...exp pedal controls the speed.
