Cameron Amps vs. Carol Ann

Dear God what amazing tone! Total GAS attack. $3500 & 10 week build time but from all indication sounds like it's totally worth it. I have heard their modded amps before but their production stuff is amazing.

On the other hand, I've been having GAS for a Carol Ann Triptik. Any Cameron and Carol Ann owners who can shed some light here?

Re: Cameron Amps vs. Carol Ann

The Cameron head is probably the most huge and crushing rock/metal tone I've ever heard....up there with the Diezel Herbert.

Re: Cameron Amps vs. Carol Ann

The old Cameron mods are not Cameron amps you can buy now. Brad King bough the rights for Cameron amps and they are build by Metro amps if I am not mistaken. The CCV and Atomic are two different beasts.

If you like that kind of sound, you might check also Henning Cherry bomb and Friedman's Steve Steavens sig amp. They are in the same ballpark with different feeling.

Yes, but it is important to point out that Mark (Cameron) designed the circuit and tweaked the final prototype for Brad King.

I am not in the market for a CCV, but I would have no reservations buying one from Brad.

I just looked up Carol Ann. Sorry, I couldn't own an amp that said Carol Ann on the front of it. LOL

Re: Cameron Amps vs. Carol Ann

The Carol Ann stuff is very well made and the limited experience I have with it is very positive...

Cameron amps...no thinks...Mark Cameron has a bad habit of disappearing for weeks even months at a time with peoples deposits...

Mark has nothing to due with the current company. Brad bought the "name" and hired Mark to design the circuit.

Of course it can not be overstated that is was Dave Friedman who took the design notes from Mark and created an actual board for production.

Cameron Amps is a joint venture between Brad King, Dave Friedman, and Rob Navarette.

You know I can't say enough great things about Dave and his work. :D

Fair enough, I just know some folks that that wish they'd never sent Mark Cameron any money...
