Can 15Watts compete w, 100Watts live ?

Re: Can 15Watts compete w, 100Watts live ?

I dunno man, a stoner rock gig with nothin but 2x12's for each guitarist? Seems a little lackluster after seeing TORCHE'S rig...

When I have my Bassman (50 watts) around 5 and my Valve Jr. (5 watts) cranked they're about the same volume...so at 15 watts you should be just a little over half as loud as his Peavy. If you're playing cranked-up stoner rhythms I wouldn't even worry bro, turn up your Tiny Terror and make sure the riff stays steady. You'll probably sound heavier than him anyway, those li'l Orange's are AAANGRY...

Thing is, i am not in a band yet , so do not need huge amps, and their 2nd guitarist ran away (left the country) w. a Philapino chick (a bloody hot one btw!), and neither the amp or cab is mine, so i just use what is given to me to help them out !

I do like this band though as 95% of their set-list is origenal stuff ! (think - a heavier & slower, Soundgarden)

Looks like it will be a one-off for me though !

I played a show in front of about 300 people in a venue without a PA. I was pretty worried beforehand, but my amp did just fine. It was a VHT Pitbull 45 running Class A mode, so it was pushing ~30 watts at the most. It was feeding a 2x12" cab with a Celestion V30/G12H30 combo. I was the only guitar though.

My take ... depends on what you mean by complete. Stage volume with running hot, probably not. PA sound if both are properly miced, you would be fine. The front of house may not be so balanced though. The only issue to watch for is that most small amps like a Tiny Terror do not have much for clean headroom at all.

yeah i'm gonna hafta go with christian's advice

go get yourself some g12h30's or emi wizards, then you'll be fine

he won't be able to crank it all the way but it'll give him more breathing room than greenbacks would for sure
