I don't know about too easy, but my guitar is almost too fast. When I first got it, I had to get used to it, because I'd slide past where I was wanting to go. I haven't had any problems lately, though.

It is the feel that gets wrong somehow for me, some nuances gets lost, it all ends up in endless runs for me, like a wild derailed train.
Dunno if it makes sense??
I am not comfy with too nice guitars, I need the flaws to remind to play instead of noodle too much....it is headology I guess

theres a trade off usually. Action's too low then you cant dig up the bends. On low action guitars i lose my rhythm and feel and play off time since im not used to not having a high action there to feel out.
I like the feel of high strings, and if i step on the gas i could pull a quick lick and turn out fine. It's preference, but i'd rather get used to working harder and sounding consistent on the action that i typically prefer than always going off the rails with a shred guitar action.

It's just a matter of preference. Some players prefer low action and low tension, some prefer the opposite, or varied combinations of the two.
I'd venture to say every player prefers a guitar they sound the best playing, making it the easiest guitar to play *for them*. The term "too easy" becomes more miscommunication at that point, IMO.

A friend of mine got a Les Paul Custom Black Beauty from 67. The action is soooo low whitout buzzing and the frets are dressed down several times. It is great to play. But it ain't to easy to play, I'll never be able to say that. Maybe that means I am just no good?! :smack:

Yes they can be to easy to play.
I got this one piece Mahogany '97 Hamer Standard last Monday. The Custom/ Custom 5 are great in it. The note is pure and rings true when plucked, picked, and fingered. :notworthy :bigeyes: :crazy: :crazy: :7:

I personally find a guitar with heavier strings and higher action easier to play because of the way I play. I wouldn't be able to play say, a Les Paul strung with .08's and super low action, I'm not sure I would even be able to feel the strings. One man's pleasure is another man's poison.......Joe

There sure is such a thing as too easy to play. If the action is too low, I can't get bends happening, and if the strings are too light I end up whacking them out of tune too easily. I try to play with a lot of dynamic range, and a certain amount of resistance really helps in my experience.
That said, I have erred toward the other extreme a bit in recent times. My fenders would greatly benefit from jumbo refrets, for example.
