Re: can a guitar suffer from many re-strings?
Dude, I was just going to post something similar! I wax-potted my pickup covers last night, which required me to take the strings off. Well, when I put them back on and tuned up I had all kinds of string buzz :yell: :yell: :yell: Prior to this my baby was playing better than ever. I just got her set up a couple of months ago.
So I think the answer to your question is YES. The guitar is not damaged, however it does need to be setup (or slightly tweaked) again. When you change your strings, you should only do one string at a time so the tension doesn't change (you'll always have at least 5 strings on it this way). Hopefully all that needs to be done to get rid of my buzzing is a slight turn of the truss rod??
Hey guys... anyone have any good websites on how to setup your guitar or cure string buzzing? I'll check the Vault now...
