can a two prong variac be converted to a three prong variac?

all my amps are three prong, so in order to use this variac, i would need to use a ground lift adapter. the cord from the variac isnt even keyed, so id rather fix it up than go spend $150 on another one

i avoid amazon and chinese manufacturing when possible, but id still rather spend $10 on a cord and outlet and maybe an hour of my time than $75. i may even have the cord and outlet already if i dig around
