Can anybody tell me what type of single coils I have in this Strat?

Anybody recognize these pickups. Need help figuring out what they are, if that's even possible. Guy who sold me the guitar told me they were Fender Texas Specials but I know that is not right. I know they aren't Texas Specials... But wtf are they???:smack: I just installed an Obsidianwire 7 way Gilmour switch/ solderless system yesterday and I've got a set of SD APS-1's on order, but with the new electronics in there it already sounds amazing, and I'm wondering if the pickups that are in there are anything that someone may recognize.

I know Texas Specials have purple-ish raw looking copper windings on at least the middle pickup, sometimes all three. These are all shiny copper like a new penny. Don't know if that's relevant or helps at all, but just figured I'd throw it in there. Also, the pole pieces are not tapered, but flat, and they are staggered as well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Also, incase anyone is looking for good replacement electronics, the Obsidianwire 7-way system seen in the picture here is absolutely KILLER. It completely brought these pickups and my Strat to life guitar#39.jpg

I appreciate the help, and I believe you two are right. I looked them up on Google Images and there are a bunch of pics of them on there with the same writing in the same silver paint pen, and alot of the pics look to even have the same hand writing as well. So I'm going to send Fender some pics and ask if they are this specific pickup, just to be 100%, but at this point, I would take any bet that they are. Thanks again for the help.

You don't need to ask Fender. Just look up the handwritten number, they are the Fender Parts number.
e.g. Vaughan Strat:

0050657000
Pickup, Neck, Tex Mex

0050658000
Pickup, Middle, Tex Mex

0053011000
Pickup, Bridge, Tex Mex

The Tex Mex set is awesome. Sort of a hidden gem, really. Many players actually prefer them to the Specials in blind tests. If you like 'em, I say stick with 'em...no need to upgrade!

Thanks for the responses everyone. Yes, they are infact Tex Mex pickups, and I do really like them. They sound great. And I just got a new amp today, it's a used Fender Super Sonic 60w combo I got for a price I couldn't pass up and the Strat with the Tex Mex pickups sounds killer through it.

to clarify, the texas specials are not clones of what stevie had in #1 (or any strat) but they were what was in his signature strat that came out after he died.
