Can anyone explain Player/Pro picks on Tone chart

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
What, if any, use is this to anyone? I'm not saying it isn't...I just can't figure out why anyone would care!?!?!

Re: Can anyone explain Player/Pro picks on Tone chart

I think it's useful - it's basically an obtuse way of saying which pickups are more popular.

Re: Can anyone explain Player/Pro picks on Tone chart

Yeah - why not just show "Sales ranking" if that's it.

From the FAQ: (my edit in bold)

What does the "Pro Shop" logo on your packaging mean?

We have a small brochure that lists just our 28 most popular pickup models. These pickups account for more than 80% of all our sales and generally meet the needs of most everyday players, (Player logo). However, we make another 80 different models of pickups. These include a lot of the more esoteric pickups (like Quarter Pound for Jaguar, for instance). These pickups are the ones that are most likely to be used by the pros and specialty players, which we appreciate. To honor them, when we updated our packaging, we designated the specialty pickups as "Pro Shop," for the pro players.

I always thought it was a way for them to hint at the pricing, but I suppose ArtieToo is correct.
