Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

I played one through my Mesa when I was trying it out and I have to have one. It will be a while, though. I'm wondering what the differences in the different PRS guitars are and how much they run? Any help will be appreciated as I have know experience with PRS.

Thanks, so what are some of the differences?

I've heard the Mcarty is the most like a Les Paul.

Quality wise what's a good guitar for the money, you know without going all out.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

Those would be used prices, they are pretty expensive guitars.

No. Those prices are below dealer cost.

Check out my PRS Price List and figure on getting 35-40% off retail.

So, I could get a Mcarty Standard for about 1700-1800? :32:

Plus shipping and applicable taxes, $1800 should be pretty doable.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

What is tonally the difference between a Mcarty and a Mcarty Standard?

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

The McCarty is all mahogany, has more lower mids and a little thicker/warmer. The maple cap on the McCarty sounds a bit more crisp with sharper note-to-note clarity.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

The maple top on the McCarty will add some snap to the tone relative to the McCarty Standard.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

I've had a few various models, and still prefer the regular half moon inlay McCarty w/maple cap. If you can afford the rosewood neck, go for it, but the regular ones are great too. Just sit on Ebay and snipe a new/used one for around $1400-$1500.
McCarty pickups are the best stock pickups I've ever heard. There's no need to change them, but if you do, I recommend the 59/Jazz or C-5/59.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

Those prices posted were for new guitars. My standard was brand new and I got it for 1500.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

I've had 4 PRS guitars and the quality and tone are first rate. The CE Bolt-on models with plain tops sound and play just as good as the Customs and can be had for much less cash. After 14 years of full time gigging with PRS guitars, I can't imagine being without at least one in my possession.

You're off for the CEs at least...unless the dealer's selling at below cost.

You got a screamin' deal at 45% off list. There are some dealers who will offer those kinds of discounts but they're few and far between.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

I paid 2200 for a Custom 22 ..Wide Thin... w/ birds and trem. Nice top but it's not a 10. I had a purple one w/ a 10 top but traded it straight up for a really nice Talyor 'cause I was doing the acoustic solo thing at the time and really needed a sweet woody. Man I wish I still had that thing.

Re: Can anyone give some price estimates for different PRS guitars?

I know for sure a custom 22 costs about 3600$ retail

I dunno where you got your "for sure" from but my source was the PRS US Price List distributed at last January's NAMM show.
