CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
Is it possible for me to run an out from my main amp, to a second one?

Like run it into the effects return for pure power amp only? Or run a speaker out to the next amp?

Anyone? I'm really just looking to use it as an extension can with bonus backup amp capabilities.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Short answer = yes.

One pre-amplifier stage > FX Loop Send socket > pedal chain (last pedal with dual output sockets) > FX Loop Return sockets of two separate amplifiers.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Yes. VS100 is a very underrated amp, which I didn't get rid of mine in favor of a DSL40

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

I was gonna get a second one and stack them….

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Isn't that called slaving? Though I found that when I ran a line from the effects out of my Carvin straight into the effects return of my friend's Randall, the Randall snorted at full power and it was VERY LOUD.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

I guess. I gotta take a pic of the in/outs on the back.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

I would consider running a line from the effects out of your first amp into the low input of your second amp. That way you still get some volume control. And if you can set the line out to -10db, all the better.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

I believe so, but I'm not sure on the proper wiring setup. Back in the day, Townsend and all the other loud stadium acts would daisy chain several 100 watt full stacks together for live shows. Man, I would have loved to be at some of those shows.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Maybe a mono splitter in the pre-amp out?

Use a pedalboard cable to jump back in the return & you've got an extra pre-amp out jack?

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

So on the back of the main amp…

Line Out emulated

FX Send Using
FX Return Using

Speaker (4ohm)
Speaker (4ohm) Using

Headphones

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

I don't want to have to good with two volumes….

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Fx send to low input of the other amp.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

fx send to fx return of 2nd amp, unless you want the controls to work on amp 2, then do what Demanic said. Sorry, didn't unnerstan yer last post Ace.

Cooler if you put a stereo chorus in the loop of the 1st amp, then the stereo outs of the chorus to the returns of amps 1 and 2.

This sort of thing happens depending on where the effects loop and master volume are located in both amps. In your case, it sounds like the master is after the loop in the Carvin, but before the loop in the Randall. You could run one amp's send into another's input, but that frequently doesn't sound that great as the two sets of tone controls frequently fight each other. A better solution is an effects-loop volume box or using an effects device with its own level control.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Sorry - forgot about this for a spell.

I'm USING the send return on the FX loop (for effects…) in the first amp.

Now, the FX loop is parallel and I could go fx out to in….but I don't WANT dry + fx. I want a totally wet signal.

Re: CAn I do this with a Marshall VS100?

Just make the last effect a stereo one, then into both returns.

As mentioned above you'll have to experiment to see if the masters are pre or post loop send.

EDIT - ah, I see what you mean, parallel loop. Is there a mix control? Set to 100% on both amps?

If I go 100% wet on the one where there wasn't anything going in I'll get nothing….

Last effect is a delay. Yes - it will split signal. But then No delay on the dry out!!!!
