Can I have this tone with a strat?

Is it possible to achieve this tone with a Strat? [Alder+Maple]

I've experimented with a couple of SD pups and different setups in Guitar Rig, but I can't quite seem to get there. The current pickup is a JB, but I've tried a '59 and a Pearly Gates also.

My current thought is that either:
a) I need active pickup, like EMG81/85's, or
b) I need a different scale guitar, like a Gibson length, or
c) both of the above.

Any guidance is appreciated.

I have a strat style RG as my main axe.
At one Point I had a Steve's Special in the Bridge
and with the gain up I got some sounds similar to the
mp3.
I think from the sound of the clip -you are looking for some scoop .

Not sure what passive Duncan might fit the bill..
Maybe a Dimebucker?

As for Guitar Rig ,I really like the clean sounds ,but Pod /Toneport
is a much better bet for high gain IMO.

You should be able to do that with the JB, although a Custom would get you there much quicker.

Then maybe I'm missing something else. What should I look for as a starting point? Marshall amp, maybe? Starting point for the bass, mid and treble setting?
