Can I plug an ukulele into my amps?

Re: Can I plug an ukulele into my amps?

I think I saw that too, I think it was mostly a joke though :laugh2:

Re: Can I plug an ukulele into my amps?

My local kick-ass independent music store had an Oscar Schmidt uke with the electronics built in for $69 US!

My prob with Oscar Schmidt, is that they seem to offer 12 different models, so it it can be rather hard to believe that they stand behind even one of them!

I would think ukes are just like everything else guitar-wise...buying expensive usually makes for easier shopping, but a true bargain might mean trying ten of the cheapies to find "the one".

I wish I could help you out more. THE ONE THING, I have always found, is that a non-plywood, "solid top" soundboard wood for acoustics is the line where very good and great guitars are created with regularity. Plywood tops range from awful to very good at times. Heck, I almost bought that Oscar Schmidt! I have seen "beater guitars" with plywood tops come to life after the finish on the top has been removed.

Post a pic if you get one!

Well I have been thinking about another one too as a "beginner", this baby:

"Applause/Ovation UAE20-5E"
Has a pickup too, I've seen different people play them on youtube etc..sounds pretty good to me, and I've seen reviewers say they have geared tuners which should help with intonation problems..
