Rich, Wondering how you like that Fralin Strat pickup in your blue tele?

Re: Can I see some Teles?

okay. I trust you really and not being sarcastic. Im bouncing Ideas off the forum walls. Do you really get some beuatiful cleans, aND do other artists too with the Tele bridge? To me, its so bright and peircing, it needs the edge of a blackfacish cleanish distortion to make it sound gorgeous, and lets make no mistake about it.. through a Blackface Deluxe with the cleans just pushed to a sublime breakup...gorgeous beyond all belief it is!

They have tone controls...

Also, why in the world if you think they are "bright and peircing" would you want to add more bright to the mix by using a blackface amp?!

I think you just like to see yourself post this junk...

For me, it is a Tele into a fully cranked 5E3.

(...or even a cranked Evil Robot) :firedevil

I haven't had a chance to really put the guitat through its paces at normal volume, so I'm not sure how it works in the Tele.

I bought that pickup used after I played a friend's Strat with Blues Specials in the neck and middle. I just fell in love with the neck pickup tone of that guitar the night I played it. It was Stratty, but without any trace of shrillness on top. It made me want to play fake reggae rhythm parts all night, like early Joe Jackson stuff: "Fools in Love", et al. I actually converted the blue Tele back from an Esquire configuration, just to have a place to put the Blues Special.

I'm a bit worried it may overpower the Vintage 54 bridge pickup in the Tele, but I have yet to really check it out through my amp. I mostly play through my little Vox Amp Plug, with sound pretty good but isn't the best reference for pickup tweaking.

Not your typical Tele here...

It now sports a white bobbin/black cap head Invader in the bridge.

Re: Can I see some Teles?

Built this badboy a year or so back from warmoth parts.
4lb swamp ash body hand finished in french polish.
Nitro finished maple and rosewood neck with compound radius.
Kluson tuners, Joe Barden Bridge.
Pearly gates in the neck with a Jerry Donahue in the bridge.
Trick wiring so both pickups see the correct load at the pot.
....and of course real fender amp knobs!
