Can someone tell me which switch I need for this ibanez?

Well since this is pretty much the tech/wiring side of the forums I figured my question would be best addressed here.

Here's what I have

I have a Megadrive/Air norton combo in it that I just installed today.

The neck-series position is not working, it has ultra low output.

I'm guessing it's a bum switch, because it was that way before the pickup change. Exactly what switch is this and where can I get one?

It's for a 2004 Ibanez RGT42.

edit: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electro...nd_knobs/2/Megaswitches/Pictures.html#details Is that the correct switch? Will it fit in the guitar alright?

Well I found out I can make it a regular 3 way switch if I bridge the terminal all the way to the right to the terminal next to it. It works fine that way and puts the neck in series but I need to switch the polarity on the neck pickup so the middle position isn't out of phase.

Oh and btw I can't even begin to explain how awesome of a bridge hum the megadrive is... Like an EMG81 but with less output and more balls, and without a harsh edge.

The switch you have is "B" in the pic below . . . with one caveat:

I have a vague recollection of someone telling me that Ibby used another switch that looked just like this one, but had different internal connections. I don't know which guitars had which.

We could do this, if you want. I've got at least two of these that I've replaced with genuine Fender 5-way's, and I'll never put these back into anything. If you'ld like, PM me your address. I'll send you one, free of course. If it works, your switch is the same and then I can show you a diagram to convert it to the better Fender style. (Of course, you can just keep that one if you prefer.)

If it doesn't fix your problem, you either have a different switch, or a different problem.

Its not awesome. The switch I'll send you is a cheap piece of crap. :D

(But its what you probably have now.)

Re: Can someone tell me which switch I need for this ibanez?

But what is it ,an Ibanez designed switch?

Re: Can someone tell me which switch I need for this ibanez?

Yup. YM-50 is what I'm sending. ;)

Re: Can someone tell me which switch I need for this ibanez?

Yes, I believe the YM-50 is what you need. I got one from Allparts and it wasn't very good. I couldn't find any other replacement that would fit the small cavity of my Ibanez S so I took it out and I'm in the process of putting in 3 mini-switches (on-off-on).
