Can Treble Bleeds Suck Bass/Fullness on 10?

Re: Can Treble Bleeds Suck Bass/Fullness on 10?

I think it’s worth noting that there can be two totally different motives for a test that will (and should) produce two different results.

If you’re trying to prove that a small change is “no big deal” or that it falls below the threshold of human hearing, or that even though you CAN hear or feel something different, that it’s so minute that you shouldn’t really care about it. In that kind of test, you can design some blind tests that will put the user (or whoever you’re trying to convince) that a delta is insignificant. If thats your intent, then you can change peoples minds sometimes on a snake oil type of claim. Or even if there is a difference, convince people it’s not worth paying a premium, or not worth ruining your gig worrying about it.

My livelihood, however, is often centered around players (and/or very hyper-sensitive artists) who already can tell there’s a difference in something. Then, I have to identify what it is, and be able to control and duplicate or defeat it. So I AM looking to quantify the needle in the haystack, even if the majority of people won’t ever know.

So perhaps if I were in the business of budget/reasonably priced cables or microphones for example, I would be promoting tests about how who and how you CAN’T tell the difference between budget and premium.
