Can trems have ways to chance settings?

The trem on my OLP is suprising good and stays in tune really well. What I don't like is that it has to travel a small distance before doing anything AND it takes a ton of force to move the dang thing! Is there some way to get this trem i dunno the term, looser?? So it doesn't take a large amount of force to get it moving?

If it ahs all 5 springs, remove two, then teawk it. Fiddle with it until you get the response you want.
