can u put an F-spaced mag into a normal spaced pickup?

hey guys
ive got myself a Custom Custom and im finding it way too mid heavy for my likings

ive got an old ibanez V8 pickup with an alnico 5 magnet - but the pickup is f-spaced :smack:
does this mean the alnico5 mag will be too long to put inside the custom custom?
