Can you get a 7 String C-5?

I know you can get a regular Custom 7 String (Ceramic mag), and you can get a 7 String '59 (A5 mag).

So in theory you should be able to get a 7 String C-5, right?, but can you acually get one? Is this something SD is planning? (I hope so )

I believe you'll end up giving the custom shop a call.

I'll have to go through them to get a 7 string Full Shred when I get round to it

in this case you could go get an sh-5 7 string and a 59 7 string and then mix teh magnets. so you'd have a 59 with a ceramic magnet and a custom with a A5 magnet.

i put a ceramic magnet in my 59 trembucker and i think it totally rocks. people said it's be harsh but thats not the case at all. it's far from harsh, even in my charvel model 1 that has no tone pot.

I doubt it will I pressume they'd just just take a normal Custom and do a magnet swap which I think runs $20.

But I doubt you'll see a C5 seven string out for a while (I'd like to see a 7 string Full Shred, PG and Phat Cat ... but)

You can get a 7 string Custom in black only bobbins so Im sure if you call ahead and order a "floor shop custom" Custom with the alnico V magnet it will be no big deal.

Actually, if you buy 7 string pickups from Dimarzio you can get them in any combination of black or creme bobbins... and then you can send them to the SD shop to get them gutted.

You'd be looking at around $60/pickup, plus $70 to get them rewound. That's $130 each. Only $40 away from a CS job. :burnout:
