Can You Guys School Me on Michael Kelly Patriot Customs?

I was surfing the web and stumbled upon the Patriot Custom Series. I've known about them, but never gave them a look before. As far as specs, they're the best I've ever seen on a $500 guitar before. I like the body shape, the bound, matching color headstock ect. Looks great to me. I'd like to try one out.

Again the specs are great, aside from only one tone and one volume, but I could get over that.

Does anyone own one of these? How do you like it? The neck joint seems a little funky, but I've never played one, so I couldn't really say.

AMAZING Guitar! Im suprised more people arent nuts for them.. Ive had one for a few years. The build is very good, Top shelf components (grover keys, tonepros bridge) , cool features: Push pull pots. Comfy neck, great fretwork. I think easily worth much more than they charge for them.

neck joint is non intrusive. Stock pickups arent too bad even. I did put a RIO BBQ in the bridge of mine. One of my favorite players

I own the Limited model which is basically a custom with a spalted veneer top instead of flame and string-thu body instead of a tailpiece and all I can tell you is that they're not just great guitars for the money, they're great guitars, period.

A good setup, perhaps a minor fret level/dress and MAYBE different pickups if the otherwise excellent Rockfield SWC (which I'd describe as a bit tricked out PAFs) aren't your cup of tea is all you'll ever want to do to her.

Just pick up a couple and see if they're your style, I can tell you that I am a die-hard Strat-guy and still found room for one :)

Right! I think the features seem great. The guitar reminds me of somewhere between a PRS SE and an LP in looks. But, in price and features, I would think, they would be more desirable than an Agile. I have major GAS for one, as in, I"m 99% sure I'm gona get one.

I saw a pic today, on youtube, of a guy playing one, and he mounted cream rings around the pups and that really seemed to make it pop, LP-lookswise

I was impressed that the wires in the cavities were zip tied. That attention to detail is rare in an affordable guitar..

here is a cool vid of one in action.. Alil too heavy on the effects tho

Thats Hilarious! Thats the video I mentioned above where the axe had pup rings on it, that made it look pretty sweet. Video also inspired me to bust out some Sad But True riffage this afternoon about an hour ago!

I've bought two a Patriot Premium and a Patriot Vintage. I think they're great guitars. I canged the pickups in the Premium to a SD Hot Rodded set and I've got an A2P set thats going into the Vintage. I wish I would have got Flame top Vintage instead of solid though.
