Can you radius a Jag bridge?

My jag bridge is too high on the E and e strings. Can I shim it underneath the middle saddles and then lower the whole bridge? Or is that not possible / going to cause other problems?

The neck has rounder radius than the bridge.

Can you file the E and e slots a bit deeper, by any chance? That would be simpler and involve fewer parts.

ive never tried either, but both could work. shimming is reversible, filing isnt. how much are we talking, i hope its a tiny amount

The bridge being a higher radius than the fretboard isn't a bad thing imo. I believe that some 50s Gibsons had a 10" radius leading to lower middle strings. Years ago I realised that when I set the saddle height on a strat by feel I ended up with lower middle saddles too.

The worst is when the bridge has a lower radius and resulting higher middle strings. I had to file the notches deeper on a 12" tuneomatic that was 'matched' to a 14" board (LTD Horizon).

You could also but the 'Modified Mustang Bridge' from Warmoth. It uses the single groove Mustang saddles (instead of the threaded rod style on jazzmaster/jaguars) and each saddle is height adjustable in addition to the normal bridge height adjustment. It's $47 (plust tax/shipping)
