Can you rout a single to humbucker?

Is it possible to take a SSH guitar without a pickguard, specifically an Ibanez SA model, and rout the neck position to fit a full size humbucker. But do it in a way that a traditional mounting ring could be used, and no one would of known the difference? i would have a professional do it of course, but I was wondering if it could be done.

Without any problems by any decent tech, it´s one of THE most common mods

If you have a routing template (StewMac, for example) it's really no problem. Set template, set routing depth and go to town.
