That's actually a great deal. If I had the $$ sitting around, I would snap it up at that price. They only keep going up and up in value.

Yes and yes. I used it to buy an amp and a multi effects, and to sell two pedals. I'm trying to sell my Marshall on craigslist.

They came out around 1952 or 1953 if I'm not mistaken, and they had trapeze tailpieces and P90s then. Sometime between then and 1956 they switched to a one piece wraparound (non intonated) bridge, then to a Tuneomatic. In 1957 when humbuckers were invented, they switched to those.

The Original LP Standard was introduced in mid 1952...they didn´t get serials ntil about a year later, btw....

The serial and specs check out, it seems to be legit....the price is fair if the pics don´t show it to be a beater

Well, a 1960 ´Burst is the "Holy Graill Mk.II", with the ´59 being Mk. I and selling for almost double that

Even a Goldtop Conversion (an earlier than 57' Goldtop converted to humbuckers and often times refinished) can bring upwards of $35k. If all that guitar has is finish and wear issues, and has no neck breaks and repairs, or chunks of wood missing, and the all the hardware is ORIGINAL except the one tuning key.....$7500 is really a bargin.

It's even more valuable if the gold is stripped and there happens to be a two top piece with a center seam (many early goldtops were 3 piece tops because it would not show). Then it can be refinished into a burst and the value goes up a littme more.

I thought Seth Lover invented the HB in 1955, that's why they had they 50th ann. Seths?

This is correct...but it didn´t find it´s way into production instruments until 56-57 IIRC
