im asking hecause im thinking of builting a strat (like i said a few times) and im thinking of getting it as a semi hollow body. would a floyd rose or kahler work in it or no. would a wilkinson?

im asking because ive seen people before say you cant do it but i am pretty sure ive seen a floyd rose on one of chris poland's custom semi hollow yamaha guitars.

anyone wanna chime in?

The builder of this guitar could probably set it up so it could have one. They would have to use a larger block of wood under the top for the trem and trem cavity.

are u doing a warmoth, because in that case im sure u can since it is a strat, give them a call i am pretty sure the center section is solid and the "wing" are hollow

You would definitely need a wider block of wood at and around the bridge for a Floyd. Kahler no problem though.

The Washburn Wonderbar was a surface mount that was locking and could be used on a hollowbody. Otherwise you would need a solid center and hollow wings or a chambered design.
