Cannot fit an EVH78 in an HSS strat

I bought an EVH78 Seymour Duncan Custom shop pickup... but it won't fit in the 2007 fender american deluxe HSS "H" routed hole.

The hole is not deep enough. I don't want to take a router to a guitar. I don't like it.

What pickups actually fit this guitar, other than the super shallow suk-a$$ dh-1?

How much higher is the EVH78 than the dh-1 (I assume that's the stock hb)? I imagine no more than 1/8 inch?

Thats sounds like the shorter legs and I wouldnt think that would be too tall. Are you sure it isnt the screws? Sometimes those are a lot longer than necessary and I always have to trim them for my strats.

It sounds like your 78 came with long legs? Exchange it for a short leg version.

try using the previous pickup bass plate. if not, remove the legs and mount in the pickguard.

good luck =)
