can't decide on a good pickup for my bridge position in a strat!

I posted a thread earlier about what people thought about putting a JB Jr in my bridge position on my strat. After reading a few replies, I'm not sure a JB Jr will be good for what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any good recommendations? What does anyone have to say about a lil' Screamin' Demon? I run an american standard strat through a marshall JCM 2000 TSL 100. I play heavy rock most of the time both rhythm and solos. I also want to be able to play classic rock and blues, as well as have a great clean sound. I also want hum cancelling. I think I'm going to drop a lil' 59 in my neck, but I can't make up my mind on what to put in my bridge position. I don't want to just get something and then it not sound good and then I'm out a lot of money and stuck with a pickup that I don't like. Thanks for the help!

Some of us mentioned at least 3 pickups....The Fralin SP43,The Twangbanger,and the Lil 59,Antiquity Texas Hot....The SD has a tendency of being very bright overall..

Since you are looking to go hum cancelling I'd say:

Lil 59 or Hot Stack

I've always wanted to try a Cool Rail in the bridge sometime but haven't so I can't really make a recommendation as to whether that would work for you.

You won't, as long as you live in the USA or if you don't live in the USA, as long as you buy it from a local dealer in your country...if you install it and don't like it you can exchange it for another Duncan as long as you return it within 21 days of the date of purchase.

Lew, do you know (being a dealer and all, I suspect you might ) if the 21 day exchange policy requires the end user to not trim the pickup leads?

I saw the video on line with Seymour himself installing three single coils in a pickguard and he trimmed the leads. I being a beast of a different nature (really different I might add), don't trim my leads as I swap my pickups a lot with a lot of different guitars. I would imagine that it would be ok as long as you don't clip them at the base of the pickup.

oh ok well that's good to know. I should've come to this forum before talking to the guys at Guitar Center and Sam Ash because they definitely were not as helpful as people on here. Thanks for the input guys.

When a 21 Day return pickup comes back to a dealer it is returned to Duncan and if I remember correctly it gets recycled or re-manufactured. It really doesn't matter if the leads have been trimmed.

I have had a few pickups come back that looked well used, but as long as you have a receipt and it's within 21 days I've never seen Duncan turn one away.

The 21 day exchange can also be done directly through the Duncan folks as well as your dealer. It's usually best to do it through your dealer if he has the pickup you want to swap to in stock. If not, it's quicker to go directly to Duncan for the exchange.

The Cool Rails sounds like it would work in the Bridge for you with Little 59's in the neck & middle.
