Can't do the 50's wiring on my prs santana se

i can't do this type of wiring...i've tried in every way...and or the tone control does nothing..or act like a second volume or like a tone pot rolled back half...
the strange thing is that the ground is on the selector...and also the wire that goes from volume to tone has ground and if i disconnect ground the tone pot is non existant...

Can you help me?
on my epi sg vintage i've done and all sounds beautiful...

To do the 50's mod on any guitar, just remember this - a tone control is a cap and pot in series. You only have two ends. Connect those two ends across the hot and ground of the output jack.

Thats the 50's mod.

mh...
on my sg the wiring is in this way
on the tone pot cap across lug 2 and 3...wire from the middle lug of volume pot goes to the first lug of tone pot (i just moved the wire from first to second lug on volume pot)
on my prs the cap is on the third lug of the tone pot and goes to ground...the wire coming from the volume pot is on the second lug of tone pot.
first i tried only moving the wire from first to second lug on volume pot..nothing..then tried to do exactly like on my sg...nothing again..where i'm wrong?

That's the way Hamer does it: they attach the tone control to the output jack. But to do it that way it does need to be a guitar that has only one tone control...a master tone control.

In a guitar like a Les Paul which has a volume and tone control for each pickup, the 50's mod can be done by connecting each tone control to the middle terminal of the volume control for each pickup.

It can be done on a Strat too...and Artie even did a diagram that I think is archived somewhere in the Vault.
