Can't Replace Saddle On A TonePros?

The low E saddle on my TonePros TOM has some extra notches in it from the previous owner, so when I really dig in and chug that sucker, it pushes it into one, and out of tune.

I was going to replace with with just a single saddle, but someone told me that once you take the adjustment screw off on a TonePros, it'll never go back on?


This seems like a crock to me - it wouldn't make sense to screw customers over like that; make them buy a new bridge if the saddles need replacing. It makes sense from a business standpoint, but not from a customer-care one.

So has anybody done this? I'd rather not have to get a whole new TOM assembly.

I've never had to replace one, but nothing whatsoever leads me to believe that you can't replace the saddle. In fact, if you have a TonePros bridge, you can get Graph Tech saddles as replacements. You got bad info bro.

Actually - for someone who never breaks strings and doesn't have any tuning/intonation/tone issues, would the graphtechs make a big difference?

On my schecter I always had problems with the d string breaking. I later found out that the saddles were prone to developing burrs (This was probably before schecter updated their tonepros hardware though).

Since you don't break strings, that shouldn't be a problem. When I installed mine, I noticed that my guitar sounded a tad bit brighter and maybe a little clearer.
