I am putting a Pegasus and Sentient into a solid mahogany body guitar. I need suggestions on what capacitor to match with them? I am looking for a warmer tone with a little bight.
.022 mF is standard for humbuckers, but you can always have a .047 on hand if you need more highs and mids cut out. There are no rules here, you just have to experiment to see what you like.
Yeah, it is worth it to try a bunch, as a value is only a really rough guideline. I generally like higher values, but there have been particular guitars where that wasn't the case. Good thing is, it is one of the cheapest things electronics-wise that you can change and hear immediately.
The sound that is missing isn't drastic, they just seem to be lacking when their together. The drop is about 10 to 20 percent at most, and the 2 pickups together seem to lack that certain slipperiness I Hear in other guitars.

Thanks, I have been trying to adjust the height. The middle position sound has a nice clear honk sound but still seems to be a lower overall output then the 2 individually. Still around 10 to 20 percent lower. More info. for you would be its an Ibanez 5-way switch (Neck/parallel neck/neck and bridge/neck and bridge split/bridge). I've triple checked the wiring and solder joints. Thanks again for your help
If you had a spare basic 3 way switch around, you could try wiring straight to that, as opposed to the Ibanez switch, just to eliminate the switch as a cause. It almost sounds like you might have 2 parallel pickups in parallel, or 2 parallel pickups in series.
That makes sense, I'm going to dig more into my wiring. Took awhile find clear info. comparing SD color codes to Ibanez's. Maybe I didn't get them quite right.
