Capacitors

In another thread, I am seeking help about a grounding problem:

https://forum.seymourduncan.com/showthread.php?t=66588

I notice that when I use a larger capicitor (i.e. higher voltage rating) that the static shocks are worse. With a .047mA 200V orange drop it can border on painful.

Is this because the cap is storing a great static charge and discharging when I touch the guitar?

What can I do?

Re: Capacitors

have u checked your amp is grouded properly? You need to be very careful with this, if you are certain your tele circuits are all properly grounded, get a guitar tech to check the amp circuits and plug.

Yes, no problem with other guitars.

I thought it would most likely be the neck pickup. The cover is on an isolated ground and I have even disconnected the hot lead on the neck pup.

How can I best diagnose where in the wiring the problem might be?
