im new to caps. Just wondering if everyone takes off there caps. I hear they cause too much treble. Feedback would be nice, that is a shout back would be......

The guitar store in town says they just get rid of the nonesensical things.

Are you talking about the caps across your tone controls? I Like keeping those in place so I can roll off highend if needed,but I also like using No Load tone pots...The no load tone pot totally removes the cap and the tone pot's resistance when on 10...In my 500k guitars I make my own no load tone pots.

I too sought of scratched my head? Maybe he's talking about amp caps? If so it's also in the wrong forum spot?!

I wondered about that too, but a guitar store wouldn't remove amp caps either. Hopefully, he'll clarify.

My bet is he's talking about pickup covers.

I take my cap off when a lady enters the room, or I sit down to the table to eat. :chairfall

i was guessing it was the tone cap thingy. .022 or whatever. If nobody else takes it off then i`ll leave it.
