Careful, you could put out an eye with that thing.

Splits?

Like cracks?

No splits, no cracks. I think you are seeing grain lines.

Binding this week (added a couple more pics to the earlier post)

And I have a body in need of one of those necks! Lol

Could be.
Now this looks seriously cool. Only thing I'd add to it would be a Floyd as per this:
Dude, you are almost building my dream guitar!!! My dream guitar is an Explorer shape, pointy headstock, triple pup. My preferences would be a set neck, a black or purple quilt top and maybe a floyd.

I actually caught myself blowing on the screen when I saw this.

What pickups do you want to put in it? Whatever it ends up with, if it ends up with 3 zebra humbuckers in it, you'll get the Aryton Of The Year award from me. But even without them, a 7 string HHH Explorer would put a smile on anyone's face.

Edit: Do you intend on keeping it bolt on?

Stunning work, it is great to see the steps it takes to create art like this. Thank you.

Re: Careful, you could put out an eye with that thing.

I am not 100% final, but most likely three DiMarzio '59 PAFs going in there.

I did toy with the idea of making a set neck, but in trying to keep it "old school" Charvel, bolt on it is.

Re: Careful, you could put out an eye with that thing.

Y' know, old school Charvels had a surface-mount Floyd as well

Re: Careful, you could put out an eye with that thing.

This is all a bit exciting.

Soon as i saw the charvel neck i was sold. Those mij era circa 90's charvel stuff is just so awesome and to me there just as appealing as instruments worth 4 times as much.

That is absolute beautiful man.
I am in love with it.

Some final tweaks to be done, but I am calling this one all but done.

Laying out for the pups with my ultra high tech method for consistent spacing.

Drill and tap for the bridge, and string spacing.

Not sure where I want my strap buttons and some other minor details to sew up, but pretty pleased with it. :D
