I thought it was amazing! At least the one I played. But I'm comparing to a Nomad 100. About anything sounds good right now.
What do you suggest Lew/tgwif?
I've also noticed that every other blackface amp is very expensive. I don't like that. I'm goin to have 1000 for a head and a cab. And the ones I've seen are a bit over it.
That's a good idea. It doesn't really matter to me whether it's a combo or a head/cab. I think a combo might be nicer but I like the idea of having the ability to switch cabs.

Don't worry too much about that...just get an amp that you like and focus on your playing.
How much power do you need and do you use pedals for your crunch???
40-ish watts is plenty. And Yes, I'll be using plenty of pedals soon.
Don't confuse gain with distortion...
Ok, 35-40 is plenty, you're using pedals for crunch, you like the tone of the Bandmaster, you would prefer a head/cab set up...sounds like you have an answer!
Hey Cream, if you dig the painted one's sound, use the "I'll have to get a replacement box for it & fix the trem" to your advantage....offer $350.00 & see what the guy says.
Also, where are you located?
If you're anywhere near Long Island, XXsive has a sweet Fender cab collecting dust![]()
Keep us posted as to what happens....Check the Mojo Music Supply site for parts & use that in d!ckering for the amp.
You could get a repro head box & then see if you can remove the paint off the (assuming it's) the original & just hang on to it.
The trem issue might just be bad tubes, but a decent techshould be able to take care of any operational issues & then you might be in it for $500 or so....
As that discontinued?
