Anyone familiar with these? I saw them recently advertised in Guitar Player. They're about 20 mins. from my house so I think I'll try to check the place out. Just wondering if anyone has played one. Thanks.

Peace,

Darrin

I they're close to you, and you introduce yourself as a local player,
there's a good chance you could buy direct from them.

Carr is a magnificent boutique company, that is catching on quick!
I've played on several of those, and the Slant 6V (4 6V6's)
with a cabinet that is slightly slanted up, and the Imperial, which is like a glassy tweed amp w/ a boost, so you don't have to have an OD......Carr's kick A$$.

I played through a Hammerhead once. Its a really good sounding, and very unique amp. They also make some others that have a great sound, and are the highest quality build. They are certainly worth checking into....

I'm using a Carr Rambler as my main gigging amp right now, I've never been as happy as I am with this amp it's amazing . They are expensive but handbuilt to military specs, , check it out! I'm over here in western NC

Is that what you used in your clip? 'Cause your tone was happnin'!! :)

I have a friend who has a Rambler. His review used to be up on Carr's site. He loves it for a little blues amp. I'm gonna visit him in a few weeks, so I'll test drive it for you guys. :)

The model I want to try is the Slant V. Looks like a blues amp with versatility, plus 6V6's have a sweet voice IMO. It's kind of unique to see an amp with 4 - 6V6's, but why not? My amp tech used to say that's what he wanted to design - an amp with 4 - 6V6's - he just thought the breakup was prettier.

You gotta appreciate the little guys like Carr, Dr Z, Victoria, etc., who really make the commitment to quality construction!

Since my last name is Carr, I should qualify for a discount, right? :D

no, those clips were a Tech 21 Trademark 60 , using the direct out, nice cheap amp , eh? BUT the Carr has that elusive warmth and feel that obly handwired tube amps have, I had been using the Tech21 over some current pcb tube amps in my stable , then I got the Rambler and whoa! Keep in mind the Rambler lists at 2100 so it better be really good, and it is, hats off to Steve Carr
