Welcome to the forum!
What don't you like about the current pickups? Do you need an EQ change or output level change or both?

Re: Carvin dc127-12 pick up change

I just dont like the sound very tinny I've tryed every combo with the controls .raised and lowered pick ups even adjusted the pot on the circuit board .I really like pages sound on his gibson 12 I've seen vidio of the current gibson 12 with pages specs and it sounds great these pick ups are c22 keisels old version now they recommended berrylliums wich are vintage style alnicos also was considering bare knuckle blue monday also vintage style alnicos both around 7-8 ohm .just looking for a similar sound as page has with his gibson 12 sounded great even with distortion so I figured I fo that way .and thanks for the reply

Yes you will need 4 wire for sure with the active module.Albert over at Keisel sent me a comparison chart on wire colors from Kiesel/Carvins to Duncans but I have something that I'm confused on. I'm dropping a Perpetual Burn and Sentient neck into my 2002 DC 400 with the actives. Have you pulled the back cover and taken a look yet? It will solder into a PC board but the color codes won't directly cross.
I have done it years ago with Dimarzios but it's been a long time. Suggest you ether hit Kiesel or let me get mine in and get back to you on the color codes if you go with Duncans.
PS have to wonder if the Duncan Whole Lotta set would get you close on the tones?

Re: Carvin dc127-12 pick up change

I think it is a long shot that that will sound like Page's. But I can't imagine him using anything very high output. I'd get 59s and get to playing.

Re: Carvin dc127-12 pick up change

59's, Seths......the low output pickups are what is the go. I think Page's was custom made after they were officially out of production. The pickups were almost certainly T-tops as stock (supposedly a 1971 build date for the guitar).

Re: Carvin dc127-12 pick up change

We see a lot of them for sale in our classified section. But being that they are a very popular pickup set, most stores have 'em.

Thanks mincer I appreciate all your help .I've decided to go with bare knuckle stormy Monday pick ups does anyone have a color wire chart for the carvin as I think bk are diff colors and do you think the poles will make a diff since most have 6 and mine have like 11 will it make much diff

Have the Chart that Albert head guitar tech at Kiesel/ Carvin sent me on Carvin vs Duncan some where will hunt it down and post it.
On the polls yes the Carvin M22/ C22's respond a little differently and very close to the Duncan PATB it's not a problem it's just different. What will be critical is getting that color code right into the PC on your active module so the split and phase works right.
Had a little experience with them.
Mine now had a BUNCH more over the years.

Should get this one done with the active module soon as I get over this blasted sinus infection I'm fighting.

Re: Carvin dc127-12 pick up change

Here is your north south start stop codes for the Carvin pickups vs Duncans
Carvin North Red-start White stop Duncan Black start White stop South is Carvin Green start Black Stop Duncan Green start Red Stop. Hope this helps. At the least you can look at the codes into the PC board and how Carvin wired those into the PC board then run the 4 conductor codes for what ever you get and match them.
