500euros are about 620 $. For what kind of style? From blues, funk to rock, hard rock. Good cleans are equally important to good distortion sounds.

elvhfan..... :cool3: :fing2: :fing2: you haven't seen another greek on this board cause there aren't any....... :)

Re: Cast you vote on the amp you would buy

Of those 2, I chose the Mesa....I like the cleans better.

Re: Cast you vote on the amp you would buy

Of those two, I also choose the Mesa. Outside of those, there are some cool Laney's out there, and the old Peavey Prowler romps after a tube/ speaker change.

Re: Cast you vote on the amp you would buy

I picked the Mesa. I know some folks who swear by their DC-5s and personally don't care for the TSL.

Re: Cast you vote on the amp you would buy

I'm not a fan of the new Marshalls. Those older boogies sound great and are built like tanks. That'd be my pick!

marshall, every mesa i'vep layed has had to much of a compressed sound for my liking

I've never been comfortable with the way Mesa/Boogies are voiced. I've owned a couple, including the Mark I. Just not what I want to hear I guess. I like them when others play through them though.

I'll always be a vintage Fender and Marshall man I guess...

Re: Cast you vote on the amp you would buy

I looked at the DC range when they came out, and found the overdrive to be cludgy. they seemed to share a common mark-era mesa trait: too much compression and an abundance of ill-defined midrange (unless you scoop them, and then you disappear in the mix).

I prefer the dsl marshalls over the tsl models. Good amps, though.
