Cc/jb

I've heard a bit of talk about using the JB in the neck (mrid & Zerberus, wanna chime in?). I've got a CC on the way, and wonder if I stick the JB in the neck slot, will it overpower the CC? Also, is there any trick to getting the JB to sound good in the neck, like putting the screw bobbin closest to the neck?

Re: Cc/jb

I am pretty sure the JB does have more output than the CC. The only way I see it working well at all is to keep the JB really low and the CC up high.

Re: Cc/jb

In my LP Custom I had a JB in the neck and a Custom in the bridge. The JB is pretty hot even with the ceramic Custom and I had to back it way into the body. I switched to a Custom Custom in the bridge and a Jazz in the neck and I am MUCH happier with the bridge tone but I kind of miss the JB in the neck. It was a singing b!tch.

Re: Cc/jb

I'd imagine that I'll ultimately end switching the CC to a Custom. Do you suppose if I stuck the A2 mag in the JB, it'd tame it enough that they'd balance?

not really...the wind determins the output, and a JB is hotter that a Custom/C5/CC. IUf you leave the CC as a CC try an A2P or a PG for the neck, if you make it a Custom try a Jazz, or maybe a 59 for the neck.

Re: Cc/jb

THe magnet has an effect on the output also. But, I dont not think putting a ceramic in the CC and an A2 in the CC will have enough of an effect to give you the correct balance.

The /CC(b)/PG(n) combination is working for me.
