CC or C5 Shred Solo

I'm looking to evaluate the tonal characteristics of the C5 and CC. I've heard some great clips, but would like to hear more picked runs, sweeps, etc...

I play (at least try to) instrumental shred kind of crap most of the time. I like the note separation I get with Dimarzio, but I think Seymours got a little edge on sound.

Does anyone have any shred clips or solo stuff with these pups?

Re: CC or C5 Shred Solo

I recomend the CC over the C5 for Leads.
and , depending on the kind of sound you want it to do the riffage for you, I´ll suggest either one or another.
C5 on the wrong guitar, can sound mushy on the bass and Scooped on the mids.but its highs are very cool.crispy and vintagey.
the CC has smooth bass, Awesme middles and awesome highs, for either riffing or shredding
if you need tight bass,go with c5. if you don´t mind having toWORK alittle more with your right hand, then get the CC
i have some Metal clips using the CC. and i posted one C5 clip doing some metal too. if i´m not mistaken.
do a search here for my THREADS and i think you will find it

Thanks man. I've heard some of your clips but wasn't sure what pups you were using. You sound great by the way.

I just want to hear some shredding on each so I can hear the tone and note separation. I'm only curious about the C5 mostly because some vintage stuff sounds real good for metal.

I will be putting one of these in a Strat, so the C2 sounds good because of the alnico 2. The c5 sounds good because of the lows and scooped mids. Although I play mainly metal and heavy instrumental ****, I don't want to be limited. Shredding, however, has to be part of anything I play:13:

Re: CC or C5 Shred Solo

I don´t have the CC anymore, but if you are going to put the pickup in a BRIGHT guitar, and don´t want to sound shrill, too much bright,or harsh or fizzy, then go with the CC, cause it never gets BRIGHT
Q:P
the c5 can be bright, or dark
