Cc

Well I just got one....and now I have to wait until it arrives;)
So anyone have one in their Strats or something alike??
I know Stevo has some clips with it, so anyone else have anything on that pickup?

Re: Cc

Click on my soundclips and scroll down a bit. There is a clip called CC lead demo, or something similar. That is thru my Boss GT-6, Soldano SLO 100 model, gain fairly high.

I love the CC in my double fat strat. The only thing I would even consider replacing it with is the EVH....and that would probably be just to try it. It would have to be something else to beat the CC.

Re: Cc

I put a CC in an Am Std strat, and it sounded real full and rich, but I thought the highs weren't 'airy' enough for my taste. Then, I put a Custom 5 in, since I love them in Gibsons/PRS, and now I think it sounds good, yet I wish I had a bit more mids.

One of these days, I'm going to stumble on the perfect cross between a Custom 5 and a Custom Custom. I don't think the Custom or JB are it. Maybe the EVH? Screamin Demon?

I even tried an Alnico 4 magnet in a C-5, and that still didn't nail it.

Re: Cc

I have a CC in one of my Strats. Single pup full/split/parallel wiring with a single volume knob. If I could play like Eddie I'd be all set, it is very much in that vein.

Re: Cc

I had one and I didn't care for it with high gain. Although with low gain and a gritty sounding distortion I thought it made a great rockabily sound.

Re: Cc

Ah yes that one, yeah it is a great site and that was good info:)
Thanks Lew.
I swapped magnets on my Wolfgang today, the necks APH-II's magnet with the A5 in my Demon/59n hybrid, I was a bit sceptical about the supposed differences, man was I rewarded with a new sound!
The bridge hybrid was clearsounding before, but now it had a more even sound, the highs where softer yet still open, the mids had a slight shift, the bottom was very clear and twangy.
When I started to really dig the strings...harmonics galore....screams squeals howls and lots of defention, great classic sound.
The neck pu liked the A5, it was great with cleansounds, very clear and with a little more open highend and slightly more bass, still very even sounding, all in all I am deeply pleased with my Wolf now, I have that finalty thing over it now...about time;)
Now I just wait for the CC to get its way into my Kramer.
The Kramers hybrid will be used in my old Tokai strat instead, I think I will make that one a onepickup Frankenstrat.

Re: Cc

So got it today....no sticker on the bottom, but the reading is about 14.6 and the coils are shielded like the Demon, has normal gibby spacing and looks like real deal, the magnetbar has that light shade of grey the A2's usually haves, the A5 looks darker?!
And my Kramer is not at home;)
Bugger me...lol

Re: Cc

Mine has a sticker. 14.60K sounds right. Moreover is the color on the magnet dark blue or black? Blue for A2, black for a5. ;)

Re: Cc

Light Grey with a slight blue hue.
And the coils have the same shielding tape as the Demon has, and everything is as usual neatly made and the bottomplate is a chrome one.
