Celestion Blue Substitute??

Hi all~ I'm in need of an affordable 20-30w handling capacity 12" Alnico speaker for my low-powered, open back, EL84 amps. Something not at all susceptible to 'cone howl', as I have a liking for selective feedback & note overhang..., & smooth/not too aggressive... I already have a Tone Tubby Chicago Blues, & an Avatar A50, as well as some old Jensen P12P's that I'm afraid of frying,,,but let's just call it 'affordable' speaker acquisition syndrome for a rainy day. Again, Alnico & not too pricey...

Thanks in advance for your expertise~

I'd like to keep it between 100-200 bucks.
Thanks all for the info,,, I haven't had any cone howl for 10+ yrs, & I want to keep it like that... & it definitely wasn't any ill-settings on my end, but simply that particular make, & never any others, no matter how loud or bassy,,
Leaving price out of the equation for now, what's up with those Celestion Ruby's? Truly like a Blue, but w/better power handling?
I'm still looking at the Avatar A25, a re-ish P12Q, & maybe something from WSG,,or even the elusive Red Fang,?!
But for now, Ruby thoughts & experience?

Thnx again!

ive not yet found something that sounds like a blue other than a blue or a clone like the weber, which i really like too. the gold and the ruby are nice speakers but dont sound like a blue to me. i like the red fang too but again, doesnt sound like a blue to me. a little more muscular. i dont really care for most of the newer jensens but they dont sound like celestions anyway. the weber versions of jensens i do like very much though. a 15w paper cone weber blue dog is a great blue speaker but not cheap

All great info, & thank you all!! My pocket is leading me towards the A25, but my gut is taunting me with the Ruby or the S75PVC.. & the Red Fang i s'pose. & in a few weeks, my ears will tell me whatever it will~ BTW, I love my A50, & Dave is a swell guy & very informative & helpful,,,, that means a lot, as does all your opinions, & again, thanx~

I thought the greenbacks and cream backs were versions of the blue with better power handling
Blue are alnicos while green are ceramic. Celestion also makes ruby, silver, gold, and cream which are alnicos with higher power handling and different voicings. Celestion also makes cream models for their ceramic range of speakers. If I had to choose an alnico it would be a Fane but they aren't any cheaper than a Celestion.

I have Eminence in my ported 2x12.
Swamp Thang and Texas Heat. At 300 watts, I can turn the 200 watt ss Randall up quite a bit.
The Swamp Thang is on the right, it's a few years older than the Texas Heat.
