they sound pretty close to a Celestion Blue...is that what you needed to know or are you completely new to Alnico Celestions???

yeah, that's pretty much what i wanted to know -- if they really are celestion blues bulked up to handle more wattage, or if they're just an approximation -- they really can't sound exactly the same, can they? :smokin:

Supposedly they are scary close!

Weber states on his Blue clones that the higher the wattage the more warmth you get.

The Gold sounds very close to the Blue but it is a tad thicker and warmer both at lower and higher volume levels, I also feels like it lacks a small bit of compression compared to a Blue...

I saw / heard it the LA Amp Show - nice tone, very rich with a Clubman, and it has a more robust bottom. If you don't mind a smoother tone with more bottom - you won't lose.
