Anyone have any info on a G12T-75 Celestion speaker? Black and White logoback. I found one that looks fine. Wondering about it.

Classic rock speaker that was standard in most '80's Marshall cabs. The sound is scooped, so some pair them with V30s to even out the sound (my preference).

How do you think it might do as a 1x12 or should I put it into a 2x12 cabinet with that other as a pair?

You could pair it with a V30, and that would have a better mix. I don't know if you would care for it solo.

The T75 is like the "JB" of the speaker world. There as many people who love it as there are who hate it.

The good news is you can always find a buyer for it if you don't like it.

This is what I ended up doing. One cab had the V30s, and the other had some old Brit built 75s. I liked both cabs on their own, but something was lacking, and I liked them better together, but something was still lacking. So I ended up mixing each type in the cabs, and that did the trick.

FWIW the g12T-75 is a ****ty speaker unless you like scooped mids. for years all i played through were these speakers until i heard the greenbacks and g12 vintages.

marshall should be flogged for offering these speakers as their standard issue.

If the voice coil is not rubbing, then you should be good.
