Anyone ever tried those? They are in the TSL 60X Combos...
What preamp tubes/speakers do you recommend? I have a TSL 601 with a Wolverine and it can sound a bit "clinical" at times.fenderiarhs said:They are not so good...........infact one of the best things to do so as to improve the tsl combos tone is to change the speaker (and the premp tubes)

Exactly, not the organic roar I'd expect from 60 watts of Marshall. Good sounds not great.STRATDELUXER97 said:What does "clinical" sound like? Do you mean "hi fi" or flat sounding perhaps?
Lacking of something?

The only thing I've not done on your list is to keep the treble low. I'll give it a try. Thanks.fenderiarhs said:One last word from me...............one of the things you MUST do with the tsl range so as to have a good tone is to keep the master volume above 6......it performs much better in high volumes......also don't be afraid to keep the treble control on the lead/crunch channel very low even as low as 2........same about the presence control..............and do NOT use the shift and deep buttons(unless you want to play scooped numetal crap).....
