Celtic Diedre 30 – Hand-Wired Point to Point 4X EL84 Tone Shaper

This is an absolute monster of an amp voiced after the classic Matchless C-30, Vox AC-30, Badcat Black Cat. It is in almost like new condition with only about 60 hours or less on the tubes (the tolex has just one pin-head sized nick in the left corner). This is the first and as far as I know only “Diedre” that Scott has built. To purchase this amp new it would cost over $1300 including shipping and it would be a very long wait for the build if you could even get one (I have heard that Scott will not be building these for a long time). I just need to get $1,000 after the actual packaging, shipping, and payment fees (if applicable) for this one so you can save time and money. If you want to pick this up in person locally (Los Angeles) that is fine and I would be willing to drive up to an hour to meet you for an in person cash deal. No trade offers please as I am downsizing to only one amp and two guitars (which I already have).

Here is the information right off Scott’s website:

The Dierdre 30 lives up to the "rage". But, she can be sweet as well! 4xEL84 power tubes, 3 12AX7 and 1 EF86 preamp tubes and either 1 5AR4 rectifier tube will give up the goods. If you prefer a bit more sag, you can put in two 5V4 rectifier tubes by utilizing a 2nd rectifier tube socket. This amp has more options than any other I build. Half-power switch, dual speaker outputs, speaker phase reversal, dual FX Loops (each channel has its own), 4, 8, 16 ohm outputs, and defeatable Master Volume.

On the front panel, you'll find two channels. Each channel has a set of high and low inputs. On the 12AX7 channel, you'll find traditional treble and bass controls. On the EF86 channel, you'll find a six position rotary tone knob and a cut control. Each channel's volume level can be set independently and then there is a Master Volume that has an off switch to turn Dierdre into a non-master volume amp.

More information and pictures of the actual amp can be found on the official webpage here:
Celtic Amplifiers: http://www.celticamplifiers.com/

The pictures shown were taken before I had another two jacks put on the back for the second effects loop and before I had the push pull master volume replaced with a small metal toggle switch. I should be able to get and email more current pictures for anyone seriously interested in the near future.

The back plate is different now as it had 4 FX loop jacks (two in and two out) instead of the stereo thing I attempted in that first photo. That amp really sings. For what its worth, it's got the same transformers from the west coast boutique transformer guy as the ones the bigger EL 84 boutique guys use.

Makes me want a franklin so much! Imagine me with a Classic White SG with a Jazz Set plugged right into a Franklin...

If the economy was not hurting me and everyone so much this would put my CC right to its limit via paypal. It seems only when we dont have the cash the right gear comes across our paths...

The speaker phase reverse switch is a cool idea, Scott. That gets overlooked a lot in band settings and you wonder why it sounds thin...very nice amp.

Primarily for playing nice when hooking up a ext cab.
