Chainmail strap

Combining two of my hobbies here - guitar and chainmail.

I made this a while ago, but just today got around to getting some strap ends for it to put the straplocks in. :D

And just for the record, I don't dress up as a knight and fight people with foam swords :laugh2:

They're aluminum rings (made from .100" 5356 aluminum if you're curious)

:eek13: :D

Re: Chainmail strap

TOTALLY Badass and I´ve honestly never seen it before. I NEED at least one of these :headbang:

How much did it cost to make? Can I order one from you (for an upcharge, of course)? :)

Re: Chainmail strap

The only problem I see with that is if you drop it on a guitar.... ouch. That's why I don't have any straps with studs, etc.

It does look totally cool though!

Thanks...well personally, I don't care if this guitar gets a little beat up - it's not like I payed $2000 for it :laugh2:

Zerb, check your PMs in a minute. :smokin:

Re: Chainmail strap

That could be an idea, custom made chainmail straps. You could charge some pretty rediculious prices just for the fact that it was custom ordered and handmade.

Re: Chainmail strap

That is totally kickass. That's screaming "ZERB" and I can hear it here in Texas. :laugh2:

Is it comfy? Can you adjust it? Also, it looks really cool!

It's pretty comfy because of the 3" width - I can't adjust it like a normal strap, but I can add and remove rings to lengthen or shorten it if I need to, but it takes a while.

And thanks. :D

Sorry to highjack the thread for a minute... Funky, how do those A2Ps sound in that SZ? I've been curious about experimenting with different pickups.

Ok.... Akrin, would you really be willing to make those for the right price? :D That is a really awesome idea! Who needs Zakk Wylde's heavy chain when you have chainmail.... that just looks too damn cool!!

complements eachother very well, the neck is absolutely perfect and i have the wiring set-up to split the coils. This thing gets great cleans and screaming leads, aswell as sweet bluesy tones. The bridge is quite bright actually, but running it into a high gain amp gets some really clear, biting, hairy tones. But then again, i do play 80-90's hair metal and blues rock so they were essentially perfect for me.

Might be a noob question, but could they be anodized black, as opposed to purple?

They're probably not purple...the picture does seem to give em a bit of a purple tint though. The picture above makes em look silverish.

I'd say its probably possible to get em anodized or powdercoated black.

Re: Chainmail strap

How much would ya charge for one of dem straps?
